Galerie Norbert Nieser in Stuttgart-Degerloch presents to its 25th aniversary the exhibition "Desert Love" by photographer Bettina Meister from 25 November 2023.
Morocco, in the north of Africa, is twice the size of Germany and has only half as many inhabitants. The country seems far away from us, even though it is only separated from Europe by a few kilometres of the Mediterranean Sea. Bettina Meister conjures up the soul of this wonderful country in her pictures. She travelled from Marrakech across the High Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Desert to make photos of fascinating desert landscapes. But even while travelling, she encountered an almost infinite expanse in which the country radiates a fascinating tranquillity and strength. The pictures are a declaration of love to a country with wonderful people, little population and a light that can only be found there.
