On all days we will be accompanied by a local driver and guide who will show us the authentic Morocco. He will bring us into contact with the locals and show us the culture and traditions of Morocco. The individuality and closeness to the culture and the people make this photo master class to something special.
Day 1:
Arrival and first meeting at the hotel/riad in Casablanca in the afternoon (transfer from Marrakech to Casablanca is possible). In the evening, night photography with sunset at the Hassan II Mosque.
Day 2:
We will photograph the architecture of the Hassan II Mosque in the morning and then continue on to Rabat. On the way we will have the opportunity to take photos by the sea. In the evening we will use the blue hour in Rabat to photograph the city.
Day 3:
The narrow alleyways and the city view in Rabat provide plenty of photo opportunities. We have to get up early, because the alleyways are still empty in the early morning at blue hour. After breakfast, we continue northwards. There are several photo stops along the way. Depending on the time and light, we will stop in Lixus, a place with archaeological excavations. We arrive in Tangier in the evening, travelling along the Atlantic coast.
Day 4:
Many artists and dropouts lived in Tangier in the mid-20th century. The city was considered ‘the most permissive city in Europe’. We explore with the camera whether it still is today and then drive on to Tétouan.
Day 5:
Tétouan has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Although the medina (old town) is one of the smallest in Morocco, it is supposedly the ‘most perfect’. We let ourselves drift through the alleyways and enjoy photographing life in the medina before making our way to Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains, where we stay for two nights.
Day 6:
Chefchaouen, the white and blue city. A photographer's dream: narrow alleyways, blue and white houses. Some myths surround the colour and UNESCO declared the Moroccan cuisine of Chefchaouen an intangible cultural heritage (cuisine of the Mediterranean region). So we can perfectly combine photography and enjoyment.
Day 7:
Even though it is hard to say goodbye to Chefchaouen, the photo tour continues to the white royal city of Fès. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The alleyways are bustling, but despite the narrow streets, there are also some great buildings to photograph. As the city lies in the Middle Atlas Mountains, it is wonderfully hilly. In the evening, we will therefore use a viewpoint for our photos with a city view at the golden and blue hour. We will stay the night in Fès.
Day 8:
A visit to the leather tannery in Fès on the edge of the medina is a ‘must’ for us. No other city in Morocco has such a large tannery. The brick-built vats in white and brown are impressive, and not just in the photos. To get there, we walk through the lively alleyways where the locals do their shopping and eat. On the way, we are able to capture plenty of photo opportunities.
Day 9:
On our long journey back to Casablanca, we will stop in the royal city of Meknes. How could it be otherwise, it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and impresses with its medina and the Ville Imperial with many photo motifs from the Arabian Nights. We arrive in Casablanca at night.
Day 10:
We say goodbye after breakfast, as today is your return flight day. If you still have time before your flight, you can use your time independently to put what you have learnt into practice. But please don't get lost in the alleyways, because your flight is not waiting for you.
The schedule and programme may change depending on the weather and local conditions.
We act flexibly in order to provide participants with the best photo opportunities on the routes and to stop at the most important and most beautiful photo spots.
We have long journeys on the tour and often only arrive at the hotel in the evening or at night. On the long journeys we try to stop at sunsets to photograph the landscape.
