Extraordinary travelling with Bettina Meister Photo workshop in Morocco - a long-cherished dream comes true: The highlights: A journey through the south of Morocco starting in bustling Marrakesh, across the High Atlas, sandy desert, mountains, Todra Gorge, dunes in the golden hour, colourful souks, contact with extraordinary people, fewer major tourist highlights and more of the real life in Morocco. Of course, camels through the desert, stargazing with knowledgeable Berbers and campfires after sunset. Hospitality in families, created by the loving and empathetic contact and genuine interest of Bettina, who wins people over with her empathetic nature. The focus is not on the hunt for photo motifs, but on contact with and respect for the people who live here. Of course, photography is not neglected either. The focus and interests of the participants are always at the forefront, all questions are answered in the best possible way, despite the many impressions and long journeys, the atmosphere remains relaxed and I have learnt a lot and with pleasure. The week was over far too quickly and I flew home with a smile and a tear in my eye, carrying great photos, wonderful memories of lovely people and an incredibly beautiful country - 1000 thanks to you Bettina for making it all possible!

Last week, I took part in a portrait photography workshop with photographer Bettina Meister and was really impressed. Not only does Bettina have in-depth expertise and a lot of patience, she also manages to create a very pleasant and motivating atmosphere. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun doing so.

It wasn't my first trip to Morocco, but thanks to Bettina it was a very special one. Thanks to her empathetic and respectful behaviour towards the locals, we were able to get to know exciting places off the beaten track. Bettina always put our well-being first. She guided us through the workshop with a lot of patience and professionalism, which offered many authentic experiences in addition to photography expertise. A big thank you also goes to the organisational talent of Abdelhadi, our Moroccan guide and absolutely prudent driver. A trip with fantastic motifs and the opportunity to get to know and better understand this great country and its people. Thank you, Bettina and thank you, Abdelhadi, it was wonderful and I can only recommend you to others.

Dear Bettina, I would like to give you my feedback on our fantastic trip together. To summarise, I can say that my expectations were completely exceeded. Thank you for an impressive few days in an incredibly different world! In our exclusive small group, we were able to enjoy a truly personalised, active and very authentic travel experience under your expert guidance. The itinerary you planned together with the local guide Abdelhadi Elmoustahli to selected natural spectacles, cities and souks off the beaten track was a special experience. Thank you also for the smooth and always safe transfer in Hassan's small coach! Thank you both also for the visits to friendly families - that was pure luxury, not material but individual! Thank you also for tailoring the itinerary to our specific photographic needs - from Milky Way photography in the desert, capturing the romance of tents and campfires to planning sunrises and sunsets at great locations. The photographic hours in the souks were a real highlight!!! Our small group size enabled us to have a very intensive exchange with you on all technical and creative questions relating to photography - I can say that all participants look back on this week equipped with new skills, be it freehand photography of the dromedary or taking photos along the road in Rissani, to mention just a few things ;-)) Thank you also for organising the overnight stays at scenic locations in selected, individual riads and tents. That was also unique! Not to mention the special culinary experiences that you and Abdel organised for us. As already mentioned - luxury not of a material kind, but of a very emotional and individual kind!!! A week of reflection on photography and the environment - Morocco has so much to offer and so much warmth! We always had enough time and flexibility to capture the special moods around us, to wait until the light magically settled over the clouds and landscapes. Dear Bettina, This trip was particularly beautiful and successful! I'll just let my thoughts run free now. I simply loved everything: Starting with the conception of the route: first immersing myself in 1001 nights in the lively old town of Marrakech. Here you can already enjoy very beautiful typical riads and very good typical local food with the fasting soup and the food on the Jamaa El Fna at night. Diving straight in with the camera for the first exposure challenge with the sunset. The journey continues over the passes to Tinghir. Again and again the warmest encounters between you and the people you had photographed and now delivered their photo. The opportunities to photograph many people on the road and in the souks and to learn to approach them personally and then through the lens of the camera. The wonderful landscapes and (unplanned) weather phenomena. The experience in the desert with the ride on the dromedary, the overnight stays in the tent, the encounter with the Gnauoa musicians, first rather theoretically, then in the cosy atmosphere around the campfire. Finally, another world in the south in and around Zagora. The opportunity to experience the hospitality of Fatima and Tarik's families - this would not have been possible with a normal travelling group. And again and again your and Abdel's tireless and almost invisible efforts to keep all the plans running and to give us maximum freedom for spontaneous photo activities. No wish remained unfulfilled. Hassan also complemented you both very well as ‘Schumacher’! And then there was always a pinch of humour, which I particularly enjoyed. Abdel and you complemented each other well and provided the information about the country and its people in a well-balanced way (even if we sometimes needed a little extra help listening ;-)). And last but not least, the extremely fortunate circumstance of being able to make the trip with Ingrid and Werner, not to forget, and that we all got on so well, that is not a matter of course!!!! In short: photographing in a country of the most varied sensory impressions, especially for the eyes, ears and taste buds, and with Bettina's inspiring guidance for better photos. There's no better way to get to know a country! Best regards Birte
