We will be accompanied by a local driver and guide every day, who will show us the authentic Morocco. He brings us into contact with the locals and shows us the culture and traditions of Morocco. The proximity to the culture and the people makes this photo workshop something special. On one of the days, we will have dinner at a Moroccan family's home.
Day 1:
Arrival and first meeting at the riad in Marrakesh in the afternoon.
In the evening, visit to the Djamna-El-Fnaa square with sunset and night photography.
Day 2:
We cross the High Atlas Mountains. Throughout the day, we are accompanied by an ever-changing landscape that invites us to take photographs. Our destination for today is Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will explore the city and take photographs at sunset.
Day 3:
In the morning, we will photograph the city of Ait Ben Haddou at sunrise, before all the tourists arrive. We will then continue on to Taznakht, the stronghold of carpets from the Atlas Mountains. In the evening, after passing several scenic photo spots, we will reach Zagora.
Day 4:
In the morning, we will visit the souk in Zagora, which offers typical photo opportunities of a weekly market and locals. We will have lunch at a family's home. In the afternoon, we will visit the traditional pottery in Tamegrout. Pottery is made by hand there, offering many motifs for photo reportage. Afterwards, we will drive back to Zagora.
Day 5:
From Zagora, we continue today into the desert to M'hamid. We walk a good distance in the desert, using the dromedaries to transport our (soft) luggage or even for riding. The vastness of the desert hides some great photo opportunities, as does walking with the dromedaries. Shortly before sunset in the evening, the desert becomes a wonderful photo opportunity for us before we sit around the campfire. Later, the starry sky with the Milky Way will (hopefully) spread out above us for night photography before we sleep in the desert tents.
Day 6:
In the morning, we greet the rising sun in the desert with our cameras. After breakfast, we set off on foot and with the dromedaries to venture deeper into the desert to reach an oasis. With a bit of luck, we will encounter desert nomads there. Before the sun sets, we arrive at the large sand dunes in a 4x4 vehicle, which provide incredibly beautiful photo opportunities. Today we spend the night in the desert camp and the starry sky sparkles down on us once again.
Day 7:
In the morning, we greet the rising sun in the desert with our cameras once again. On the way back to Marrakesh, we drive along the Draa Valley and cross the Atlas Mountains again. During the journey, we will make several photo stops to photograph the wonderful landscape. We arrive in Marrakesh late in the evening.
Day 8:
We say goodbye after breakfast, as today is your return flight day. If you have time before your flight, you can use your time independently to put what you have learned into practice. But please don't get lost in the alleys of Marrakesh.
The schedule and programme may change depending on the weather and local conditions. Please note that we only make changes to your advantage, even if this may not seem apparent at first glance.
We act flexible in order to provide participants with the best photo opportunities (including during the journey) and to stop at the most beautiful photo spots.
The tour involves long journeys and we often arrive at the hotel in the evening or at night. On long journeys, we try to stop at sunset to photograph the landscape during the golden hour.
